Amsterdam Hotels: A Chilled Out Trip

Amsterdam is a flourishing city, rich in art and culture. The city is a hugely popular destination and is fames for it’s liberal atmosphere and relaxed laws. There are Amsterdam hotels to suit everyone, from the spectacular to the simple and modest.

Amsterdam is unique for the wide range of possibilities open to travellers visiting the city. In fact, it’s not unusual to see locals enjoying a joint of marijuana with their morning coffee. This is a city of two halves, pleasant and tourist friendly in the day, and much darker and seedier by night.

Many of Amsterdam’s cultural attractions such as the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh museum are located in and around the city centre, but for travellers that want to venture slightly further out it is easy and cheap to get around. Amsterdam hotels are located throughout the city centre and the city has an excellent tram system to get around on. Of course one of the most popular ways of travelling is also by bike.

There is an endless array of attractions on offer, from the city’s zoos, Madame Tussaud’s and the Hash museum. There are also a number of squares and parks where a sunny day can be enjoyed. Dam square or “the Dam” lies in the city’s medieval centre and is a place where locals and tourists congregate.

A nice place to spend your evening in the lead up to a night out is Rembrandtplein Square, which is surrounded by plenty of bars, restaurants and cafes. Whether you wan’t to stay in the luxury Intercontinental hotel, or a more modest place such as the NH City Centre Hotel, there are  Amsterdam hotels to suit everyone.
