Carrying Bed Linen When You Go Travelling

Most of us enjoy a nice slow paced holiday where we can chill out and be pampered. But more and more of us are now also going on less traditional holidays. Wanderlust is an ever increasing feeling amongst not only students who choose to take a gap year to explore the world, but also workers who are taking career breaks to do exactly the same. On these extended trips, unless we are wealthy and can afford to stay at the best hotels, we are likely to find ourselves roughing it a bit – which is all part of the experience. This is why bed linen, although not the most glamorous item to pack, is certainly one of the more essential.

Cleanliness of hotels

You are likely to want your trip to last as long as possible, which means you will be trying to save money by staying in cheap huts and hotels. Often you will find an area that is below what you have come to expect is that of the bed linen. In these circumstances you will be happy to have a thin cotton sleeping bag with you. You can easily slide into the sleeping bag and lie on top of the provided bedding, or under it of you need its warmth, without ever coming into contact with the dirty sheets.

Some like it hot

In warmer climates you may find that the bedding that is provided to you by the locals, although clean, is too thick for you making it difficult to sleep. Your cotton sleeping bag will be ideal in these circumstances, giving you just the right amount of heat.

The travel itch

If you find yourself exploring areas of a high altitude you will find that the temperature drops dramatically during the night. Wherever you are staying you are likely to find thick warm blankets, however more often than not they will be of a coarse material. These blankets can cause a lot of itching and scratching and it makes good sense to use your own bed linen to protect you from this kind of irritation.
