Holidays In 2011 – Which Destinations Should You Go To?
While it is nice to go on holiday to places you know well and understand, occasionally it helps to go somewhere different and experience something new. Some say that the point of a holiday is to experience new cultures and learn new things, others say that it is all about relaxation and recuperation, either way it will certainly help you to avoid the same old routine and try something new for a change. With the decreasing cost of airfares and hotel rooms, there is no better time to take the plunge.
We have to start this list with Egypt, ‘Where it All Begins’. Although it may sound crazy to some people after the turmoil of recent months, in actual fact there has not been a better time to enjoy spending a short break in the Arab Republic of Egypt. With some of the greatest feats of human engineering you will see on the entire planet, Egypt is a country that will leave you in awe of human achievement and will cause you to really think about life thousands of years ago. Some places that should not be missed are the Giza Pyramids, the Great Sphinx, the Abu Simbel temples and the Valley of the Kings.
Having been named the Lonely Planet’s ‘Top Pick Destination’ in 2005 and National Geographic calling the country its ‘Destination of the Year’ in 2006, it is no surprise that Croatia has become extremely popular with tourists in recent years. What may surprise some people is why, as it is not common knowledge that the country has arguably the best mix of sandy beaches, rolling hills, rugged coastlines and mountainous regions of anywhere in Europe. Croatia really is that amazing and must be seen to be believed.
Dubai, part of the UAE, is located south of the Persian Gulf on the Arabian Peninsular and has been a popular tourist destination for a number of years now. Although there are a number of very stringent laws that tourists must adhere to, it is still a place you can enjoy yourself by sightseeing and, most popular of all, shopping. It is advisable to read up on local laws before entering the emirate before you leave.
Thailand is a country that many people seem to either be going to, living in, or have been to in recent years and it is no surprise to see why. With some fantastic weather, some very interesting culture, great cuisine and the most amazing beaches you will find anywhere in Asia, Thailand is a country that most people will want to return to again and again. Certain islands that should not be missed are Koh Lipe, Koh Phangan, Koh Kood and Koh Tao.
