Umm ar-Rasas is another archaeological World Heritage Site in the country of Jordan. What makes this site so special is its unique blend of influences from the three different civilizations that inhabited it at one time or another: the Muslims, the Byzantines, and the Romans. This special heritage helped it become so famous, and seeing the different influences among the others is a unique sort of experience. The mosaic on the floor of the Church of St. Stephen is the biggest mosaic in Jordan, and it was made in the year 785. It is actually an ancient map, as it depicts all the cities in Jordan at the time of its creation.
