While cities comparable to Edinburgh and London  are the most well-liked destinations to visit, there are plenty of other locations that are definitely worth visiting and probably the most frequently  ignored areas in England, with reference to vacations, is the county of Surrey.

The county of Surrey is found in the South East of England lower than one hour from the capital. As a result of the  close proximity to London, the county is very fashionable with commuters and while this has increased the number of inhabitants, and the cost of  living, it has, rather surprisingly, had small impact upon the beautiful countryside. While Surrey is usually overlooked in preference to the capital,  and the nearby counties of of Sussex and Kent, this is to the nice benefit of the adventuring visitor.

Many tourists are drawn to the nation of England because of its influential history and places like London benefit from having a  huge collection of top class visitor attractions and plenty of historic buildings. While Surrey is unable to supply such  prestigious tourist attractions as many other counties of England it is home to an incredible range of historic buildings, a lot of which are  of immense importance.

Appearing across the region are numerous highly interesting buildings together with a tremendous selection of windmills which include; Shiremark Mill, Lowfield Heath Mill, Outwood Post Mill and Hurt Wood Mill, plus those at Frimley Green, Buckland, Reigate Heath and Charlwood and more.

Lots of the non secular structures can be dated back centuries and even way back to the  12th and thirteenth centuries. Wherever you journey on this region of the country you will not have to travel too great a distance before you happen upon a rather small village or hamlet most of which have a number of pretty old houses, a village green, a local pub and obviously, the local place of worship.

These are great places to stop for something to eat and it’s usually worth your time visiting the church because many feature ancient  architectural workings, interesting burial places and fabulous stained glasswork. As well as the great many churches there are a variety of  priories that are also worth a visit. Worth a particular mention are the remains of Waverley Abbey, the very first Cistercian abbey  within Britain.

Obviously Surrey has many, many more attractions, unfortunately far to many to include here however you will find masses of information online. While you are on the Internet you may wish to look into accommodation Camberley bed and breakfast offers a highly relaxing environment and there are a few superb Camberley hotels featuring highly affordable rooms for the night, but you might find cheaper in Guildford, the main town in Surrey.
