One of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe is France because of the fact that it has so much to offer the visitor. In actual fact, it is also a very popular travel hotspot for visitors from all over the world; each year over 80 million visitors head to France. There are endless possibilities once you get to France and for people living in the UK, it has become even easier and quicker to reach France with the Channel Tunnel; in fact it only takes thirty five minutes to get to Calais from Folkestone.
France is a big country but it is possible to drive to almost any part of it from the UK if you have a day or two to spare. So once there, you can decide where you want to go; maybe the beautiful Mediterranean beaches or the snowy French Alps. Or you could take a trip to Paris instead and maybe treat your children to a Disneyland break. During the winter it is possible to go skiing and if you are a wine lover then a tour of vineyard country can be a great little holiday.
Having the Chunnel now means that France is just so easy to get to; its quite amazing when you think about it. You can actually drive along an English road and then under an hour later be driving along a French road. You can head to numerous parts of France in one holiday with ease because the tunnel makes it so easy to take your car away with you. If you live in the South of England it is now possible to pack the car and go for a picnic in France and come back the same day; it is hard not to feel a bit more European when the continent is that close. We have never been able to just get to another country with such minimal fuss and hassle before.
City breaks Europe style are extremely popular today. France hotels are among the best in Europe when thinking about this option. A lot of these are pet friendly hotels to boot. In todays faltering economy, nothing beats a short city break.
